An 8:28 on 8/28
An invitation.
Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
This is a reminder that while imperfect things will happen in an imperfect world filled with imperfect people, there is a perfect plan that fulfills His perfect purpose – good.
We may not always see it because we tend to look at our situations only in terms of the problem, and we forget that the solution is in the invitation.
What invitation?
It says “to those who are called”, and sometimes we get hung up on that word – “called”.
It doesn’t mean only to those who are pre-determined, or only the few who are set aside for His purpose and no one else.
The “call” from Publisher’s Clearinghouse is exclusive – it only goes out to some or only to one.
That’s very different than what we read here.
The Greek word for called used in Romans 8:28 means INVITED, and that’s all of us.
We are all invited to respond to His call on our lives to fulfill the purpose that He has for us.
Matthew 11:28
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
There’s the invitation, and He’s waiting on your RSVP.
